Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy. Through art making and play, children and young people can express thoughts and feelings that are difficult to put into words alone. Art therapy sessions are not art lessons. There's no need to be good at art. My task as an art therapist is to develop a trusting relationship. Children and young people can open up and share what matters to them in a space that is safe, confidential and free of judgement.

I have over 15 years of experience working with children and young people in schools, for charities, and through my private practice. My qualifications include an MA in Art Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths, University of London. I am also an accredited member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT).
At my private art therapy sessions, I help children and young people deal with issues such as trauma, life transitions, anxiety, confidence, self-esteem, peer relations, bullying, anger, parental separation and loss. Through building mutual trust, my goal is to help my young clients become more resilient and better able to cope and feel better about themselves. I also provide consultations for parents and carers, giving support and guidance to bring about long-lasting results.
If you want to learn more about my practice and how I might help your child, please email me at magda.florek@gmail.com. We can arrange a free informal chat over the phone or book a trial session. I hold face-to-face consultations at the Awareness Centre in Clapham, South London. I also do online consultations. Sessions are available in English or Polish.
